Quality Isn’t Expensive

Quality isn’t expensive… It’s priceless.

A property owner often wants to get a few different bids on a project to ensure they are not being price-gouged. Too often, however, the reason multiple bids are requested is a deliberate search for the lowest price.

Who could blame someone for wanting the best price? We all work hard for our money and have a strong desire to make the most of it.

Isn’t price what matters most? Price is and always should be a very important aspect of deciding whether or not to hire someone, but it should be looked at in comparison to other aspects of the work being done. The lowest bid often provides the lowest quality. If you pay too little, there is no reason for someone to give you a lot in return.

Just don’t make the mistake of focusing solely on the price when there are other important aspects to consider such as workmanship and quality product. In fact, they may be even more important than the price itself. Once you have these concepts firmly in mind, only then can you adequately compare whether or not the price tag is reasonable.

A common definition explains workmanship as the degree of skill with which a product is made or a job is done. Quality workmanship requires attention to detail; a passion for getting it exactly right!

A quality product is made up of quality materials that contribute to the whole. It is also designed to last and deal with the adverse conditions brought against it.

We often hear the saying: “You get what you pay for.” This also applies to finish carpentry. Everyone can be a carpenter but few will have the skills to be a great finish carpenter. When dealing with the finishing touches that are exposed to scrutiny, you should consider investing into good workmanship and long lasting quality. In the end, you will be glad you did.

Now, who’s in the mood for a nice caffè latte?
